Sunday School for Children & Youth
Children are invited to come to the worship service at 10:30 a.m. and stay through the children's sermon. Then they may attend Children's Church for fun and interesting faith learning experiences. Children are also welcome to stay for the entire worship service if they wish (but Children's Church is much more fun!)
St. John's Choir
Music is an important part of our worship and fellowship here at St. John's. The Choir sings each Sunday. Choir rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8 pm. We sing traditional hymns, modern hymns and music from different places in the world. Our music director is very talented and an inspiration to our entire congregation. We take a small break during the Summer months but music is still a big part of our Sunday worship services.
Grow! Learn! Praise! Sing!!
Halcyon Fellowship is a group of women dedicated to good works within and outside of the church. All women may join. Halcyon meets once a month, on the first Monday at 6:30 p.m., in the church's conference room downstairs, for devotions, a short business meeting to organize and make decisions, and a luscious snack! By the way, “Halcyon” means “peace”.
Light of the World Clothing Bank
St. John's UCC opens it's Fellowship Hall twice a month for our Light of the World Clothing Bank. We provide a large selection of clothing and accessories to fit anyone in need. Donations to the Clothing Bank can be brought by the church during Office Hours Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m. We accept donations of clothing / accessories, bedding and towels.
Community Lunch Program
Hosted at First Presbyterian Church of Bellefonte and prepared by St. John's United Church of Christ volunteers, this lunch is open to anyone in the community. Volunteers provide a hot, healthy lunch the fourth Wednesday of each month at 11:30. Sign up at the First Presbyterian Church and enjoy food and fellowship!
Faith Formation in Christian Education
This committee is a teaching, learning and outreach ministry for our church and community. With an emphasis on Christian education, they host a variety of fun events that embrace scriptural teachings while encouraging meaningful fellowship.
Programs include bible and book studies every Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm.
Other activities include Sunday school, game nights and much more.
Our Power of Eight Prayer and Meditation Group
Join us after the regular Sunday service for our small group meditation every Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. as we harness the power of group intention with principles documented by author Lynne McTaggart, PhD., in her book, “The Power of Eight.” Nonmembers welcome.
